MEANING & USE

Tibetan Tingsha are used by Tibetan Buddhists to mark the beginning and end of meditation sessions. They were also used by a Buddhist masters to bring a students back into focus when their mind wanders during meditation. These Tingshas are made in Nepal with brass. The sound is penetrating and purposely dissonant unlike the harmonic overtones of the Tibetan singing bowls.
