WHITE TARA

Tara (Star in Sanskrit, or Drolkar in Tibetan), is the goddess of health and wellbeing, and is one of the primary female deities in the Tibetan Buddhist pantheon. As emanation of Green Tara, she grants success by removing all obstacles and fulfilling all good intentions. She is saluted as the noble healer, swift and glorious liberator.

White Tara is a guardian and deliverer of peace, longevity and protection.  Taras' represents the motherly aspect of Buddha's love and compassion to all beings. 

Her white color indicates purity and truth. She has seven eyes, the two usual eyes, plus an eye in the center of her forehead and one in each of her palms and the soles of her feet. They symbolize her total vigilance and compassion to benefit all sentient beings.

Her mantra "Om Tare Tutare Ture Mama Ayur Punye Jnana Pustim Kuru Svaha" is often chanted to overcome obstacles and to achieve long life, merit, wisdom, wealth and happiness.
